Kusko is our first Chinook and quickly established himself as one of the family.  His temperment is wonderful as his life consists of four elements:  playing, eating, sleeping, and playing.  However, when not engaging in one of those four, all he wants is to be petted or to lay in your lap.

He loves all other dogs and people, and usually establishes himself as the "life of the party".

Kusko's organized activities include agility, walky-dog, bike-joring, ski-joring and has begun taking classes in rally.  While not much of a sled dog yet, we still have hope !

Kusko Kwim was the name of one of the original Chinook's sons.  The name comes from an area of Alaska and the Kusko Kwim 500 is also a famous Alaskan sled dog race.

Kusko at birth

Kusko was the smallest of his litter, which is hard to believe given how tall he is now.  He currently stands at 25 1/2 inches and weighs over 60 pounds !

Kusko at 8 weeks

Kusko was an incredibly cute puppy, but set the tone early on by leaping off of the porch at GreatMountain Chinooks.  Thanks to Kusko, GreatMountain now has to employ the hurricane fencing above the porch rails to keep the puppies from taking the "Kusko-leap"

Tissues make a great toy when you are bored

While incredibly eager to please, Kusko can also turn into his alter ego "crazy boy", especially when he's bored.

What do you mean one biscuit at a time ?

Kusko loved playing with Atlin right away
